Chomp Goes To School : “Chomp Goes To School” is a lovely book by authors Melissa Mattox and Mark Chambers. It tells the story of a wonderfully relatable young shark, Chomp. Chomp is swimming behind his father to go to his first day of school and his very anxious about it. School intimidates Chomp, there are lots of rules and everyone seems to have friends already. He tries his best to follow his dads advice to smile widely but no one seems to want to be his friend. Everywhere he goes his attempts fail. Read on to find out if Chomp does end up with friends after all. The story is great for young readers who are entering school and want to make new friends and also to understand their classmates. The prose is fun to read and the illustrations keep the reader engaged.
