Sharing A Shell tells a story of a little hermit crab, a blobby purple anemone and a tickly bristleworm, originally written by a British author and playwright Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Lydia Monks, published in 2004 by Macmillan. A little crab finds a shiny new shell to live in but doesn’t want to share with his friends. But the crab learns that when he’s faced with the difficulties the stormy sea throws at him, he’s better off with his friends. Eventually they figure out that the life is better when they are together. Julia Donaldson has written some of the world's best-loved children's books, including modern classics The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo's Child, which together have sold over 25 million copies worldwide and have been translated into over 100 languages.
