The Golden Carpet is a part of the Usborne First Reading Series and is a storybook written especially for children who are learning to read. It is developed in consultation with Alison Kelly, Principal Lecturer in Education and Reading Specialist at the University of Roehampton, UK.
Who wouldn’t want to marry a prince? Well, Ani, a peasant, doesn’t want to marry anyone who has no skills! The prince woos her by learning the art of carpet weaving and marries her. The couple rules as king and queen until an evil magician kidnaps the king and forces him to weave carpets so that he can sell them. Now the king has to find a way to get the message across to his queen to escape. How will things turn out for the King, the Queen, and their kingdom?
